La Toja Forum addresses global disorder and geopolitical shifts

Antón Costas, professor of Economics and promoter of the La Toja Forum, has described the current global landscape as a period of profound transformation where “the new normal is disorder.” This assessment comes ahead of the XVIII edition of the La Toja Forum-Atlantic Link, scheduled for October 1–3 under the theme “A World in Disorder.”

The upcoming forum will address critical issues including industrial policy, artificial intelligence regulation, Spain-Morocco relations, territorial prosperity, and the future of international relations. Participants will focus on the necessity of addressing these transformations through dialogue, consensus, and democratic values.

Amancio López Seijas, president of Grupo Hotusa and the La Toja Foundation, emphasized the importance of cooperation and building bridges rather than walls in a confrontational international context. The event will also highlight the relationship between Spain and Portugal, featuring the presentation of the Josep Piqué Prize to former Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
