La Vega authorities confirm 2027 Vegano Carnival

La Vega Mayor Amparo Custodio and Martín Duquela, representing the Unión Carnavalesca Vegana (UCAVE), have formally announced that the Vegano Carnival will take place in 2027. The announcement aims to provide certainty to citizens and tourism operators regarding the continuation of the traditional celebration.

The event is a significant cultural and economic driver for the Cibao region, attracting thousands of domestic and international visitors. Local government and cultural organizers have already begun joint working groups to coordinate logistics, public safety, and order for the 2027 edition.
