La Vega: Suspect dies after confrontation with DICRIM agents

Carlos Alfredo Sánchez Robles, known by the alias ‘Chuky’, died on Thursday while receiving medical treatment in Bonao after a reported confrontation with agents from the La Vega Regional Subdirectorate of Investigation (DICRIM).

According to preliminary police reports, the incident occurred in the Fumachú sector of Bonao. Authorities stated that while attempting to execute a judicial arrest warrant related to an attempted homicide and firearms violations, Sánchez Robles allegedly opened fire on agents using a Glock 19 pistol. Officers returned fire, wounding the suspect.

Sánchez Robles was wanted in connection with an incident on October 4 in the El Higuero sector involving Francisco Javier López Rosario. Police are currently investigating the circumstances of the encounter to establish the exact details of the confrontation.
