La vita da grandi film premieres on Rai 1

The Italian film ‘La vita da grandi’, directed by Greta Scarano, is set to premiere on Rai 1. The comedy-drama is inspired by the autobiographical book ‘Mia sorella mi rompe le balle. Una storia di autismo normale’ by siblings Margherita and Damiano Tercon.

The story follows Irene (Matilda De Angelis), who returns to her hometown of Rimini to care for her older brother Omar (Yuri Tuci) while their parents attend to medical matters. Omar, a forty-year-old with autism, seeks greater independence and dreams of becoming a rap singer. Through an intensive ‘adulting course’ organized by Irene, the siblings navigate fears, family memories, and the complexities of autonomy.

The film features Yuri Tuci, an actor with high-functioning autism, in his cinematic debut. While the film modifies certain biographical details—such as the protagonist's specific career aspirations—it is rooted in the real-life relationship of the Tercon siblings and their journey toward navigating life with autism.
