La Vuelta a España stages set for Alicante and Albacete
The La Vuelta a España cycling race is scheduled to pass through the provinces of Alicante and Albacete, featuring demanding stages for the competitors.
In Alicante, a challenging 190-kilometer stage will take place on August 30. Starting in La Vila Joiosa and finishing at the Alto de Aitana, the route includes six complex climbs, such as El Miserat, with gradients reaching 20%. The stage is expected to involve over 5,000 meters of positive elevation gain.
In Albacete, a historic stage will occur on September 1, marking the first time a Vuelta stage will run entirely through the territory. This 184.7-kilometer route will connect Alcaraz to Elche de la Sierra. Local authorities have released estimated schedules for the peloton's passage through key areas including Riópar, Aýna, and Hellín to help spectators prepare.
