La Zambra luxury resort reopens near Mijas

La Zambra, an exclusive five-star resort located near Mijas in the Andalusian mountains, has undergone a complete renovation. Situated between Malaga and Marbella on the Costa del Sol, the establishment offers a combination of gastronomy, wellness, and entertainment within an environment inspired by traditional Andalusian architecture.

The design, executed by the studio Room1804, pays homage to the luxury and hedonism of 1980s Marbella. The resort features Mediterranean-inspired architecture using natural materials, limestone, and brick floors. Accommodations include a high-end penthouse with a private pool and a 200-square-meter terrace.

Facilities include three swimming pools, four dining venues, a children's club, private event rooms, and a private nightclub. The resort occupies the site of the former Hotel Byblos, a famous meeting point for international celebrities during the 1980s and 1990s. Its name is derived from the 'zambra', a flamenco dance.
