LA2028 Olympic Sailing Team achieves titles in Brazil and competes in Spain

The LA2028 Olympic Team, a project by the Instituto Bons Ventos, has concluded a series of competitive events aimed at preparing for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

In Brazil, Gustavo Kiessling secured the ILCA 7 title at the Copa Brasil de Vela in Ilhabela, finishing with 13 net points. Valentina Guimarães Roma also claimed a national title in the ILCA 6 category, finishing fourth in the overall classification that included both men and women.

In Spain, Marina Arndt and Bernardo Peixoto competed in the Nacra Cup Valencia in the Nacra 17 class. The duo finished 12th overall out of 23 teams, accumulating 91 points across ten regattas. The competition served as a significant milestone for Arndt, who is returning to high-level competition following an injury sustained earlier in 2026. The Nacra Cup was won by Argentina’s Mateo Majdalani and Eugenia Bosco.
