Labin City Library hosts storytelling performances for children

The Labin City Library in Croatia recently hosted storytelling sessions for kindergarten groups, including The Cubes and Slonići. The event featured storyteller and academic musician Vera Pfaff, who performed two kamishibai shows.

The first performance, “Pod valovima” by Meritxell Marti, followed the adventures of a boy named Martin as he explores the underwater world. The second performance, “Ptica rugalica” by local author Ljerka Rebrović, used an interactive approach to teach children about the importance of kindness and how to respond to teasing.

These performances concluded the project “S knjigom u dijalog – razvoj čitateljskih zajednica” (In Dialogue with a Book – Development of Reading Communities), which was funded by the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia. The initiative aimed to encourage reading, foster a culture of dialogue, and connect different generations through literature.
