Labor agreements and wage increases announced in Madrid and Dominican Republic
Labor agreements and wage increases have been finalized in Madrid and the Dominican Republic.
In Madrid, the VI Collective Agreement for Logistics has been signed, establishing salary increases through 2028. The agreement includes a 4.25% increase for 2026 (retroactive to January 1), followed by 3.5% increases in both 2027 and 2028. The deal also introduces a monthly transport allowance of 44 euros for 11 months of the year, a new five-year seniority recognition, and 16 annual hours for medical appointments.
In the Dominican Republic, the National Salary Committee (CNS) approved a 25% increase in the minimum wage for heavy machinery operators in the agricultural sector. Monthly wages will rise from RD$22,000 to RD$27,500. The resolution also mandates a 25% increase in rates for various agricultural tasks, such as plowing, sowing, and harvesting. Labor Minister Eddy Olivares Ortega noted the decision resulted from tripartite dialogue aimed at improving sector conditions.
