INDEC reports rising monthly costs for raising children in Argentina

The National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC) has released data regarding the monthly cost of raising a child in Argentina for July. The expenses vary significantly by age group, ranging from $545,683 for infants under one year old to $697,268 for children between 6 and 12 years old.

The calculation methodology used by INDEC divides the cost into two primary components: the cost of essential goods and services (such as food, clothing, education, and health) and the economic value of the time dedicated to childcare. For the 6 to 12 age group, goods and services account for $361,566, while the remainder covers caregiving tasks.

In other regional news, Chile is processing a proposed Extraordinary Child Support Bonus of $30,000 for vulnerable families, while the Women's Work Bonus (Bono al Trabajo de la Mujer) in Chile is scheduled for annual payments of up to $678,028 in late August. Additionally, Banco Económico in Bolivia has set an August 25 deadline for applications for its fifth edition of the Red Mujer recognition, which provides seed capital to female entrepreneurs.
