Labor Day celebrations spotlighted with Mississippi retreat and BBQ recipe guide

Infinity Farms is hosting a four‑day Labor Day Summer Series from Sept. 4‑7 on its 13‑acre estate in Mississippi, near New Orleans and Baton Rogue. Guests can stay in the private residence, enjoy pool access, horseback riding, fishing and a bonfire, and optionally attend a VIP whiskey‑and‑beer tasting. The retreat requires a $1,100 minimum booking plus a $350 per‑person activity fee. Owner Donna Russell says, “We’re all about slowing down,” emphasizing relaxed mornings and evenings on the property.

A separate guide compiles a menu of BBQ recipes, cooking tips and dessert ideas for backyard gatherings. It includes advice on meat preparation, sauce timing and keeping side dishes cold, and notes that Labor Day originated as a tribute to American workers, proposed by labor leader Matthew Maguire and signed into law by President Grover Cleveland.
