Labor Day holiday schedules announced for Lubbock and Columbus

Labor Day holiday schedule city closures waste collection public services

Various municipalities in the United States are implementing holiday schedules for Labor Day on Monday, September 7.

In Lubbock, Texas, public libraries, community centers, senior centers, the Silent Wings Museum, and the Garden & Arts Center will be closed. Trash pickup will follow an altered schedule, with collection occurring on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Buddy Holly Center will remain open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to celebrate the singer's 90th birthday, and the Burgess-Rushing Tennis Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In Columbus, Indiana, all city offices and Columbus City Utilities will be closed. Curbside collections will be delayed by one day, with Friday's scheduled pickup moving to Saturday, September 12.
