Labor disputes affect bus transport services in Spain
Transport workers in different Spanish regions are engaging in labor disputes over wages and working conditions. In León, unions reported high participation during a second day of strikes for interurban bus services. Workers are demanding dignified salary increases, noting that the strike turnout exceeded employer expectations. The next scheduled strike action is set for the 11th.
In the O Val Miñor and O Baixo Miño regions, legal representatives for Subus Grupo de Transporte workers have denounced repeated labor violations and service deficiencies. The CIG-led committee reported that the Labor Inspection has opened sanctioning proceedings regarding insufficient rest periods between shifts.
Additional grievances include unpaid salary arrears from new collective agreements, a lack of individualized pay stubs, and inadequate vehicle maintenance. Workers also raised concerns regarding fleet reliability, a shortage of reserve vehicles, and insufficient cleaning protocols for buses.
