Labor disputes arise in Calabria and Terni

In Calabria, workers are seeking stability following the expiration of contracts for 74 former employees of Konecta. These individuals had worked under monthly contracts for up to 15 years before losing their jobs in May. The situation has prompted institutional discussions involving regional and provincial leaders to address the lack of economic support and the uncertain future of local employment. There is also focus on a regional digitalization project for health records intended to potentially revitalize the local job market.

In Terni, major trade unions (CGIL, CISL, and UIL) have expressed strong opposition to a local regulation requiring delivery riders to carry identification badges starting March 2026. The unions argue that the cost of these badges should not fall on workers and that the measure fails to address actual safety or legality issues. They contend that transparency should be demanded from digital platforms rather than placing the burden of proof on the workers themselves.
