Labor disputes intensify at Euroingro and Bcs
Labor tensions are escalating at two separate Italian industrial sites. At Euroingro, the Sudd Cobas union has staged protests at the distribution center to denounce the dismissal of a Pakistani worker. The union alleges that the company used a fictitious business closure and a change in corporate name to bypass labor rights and eliminate the facility’s first unionized employee, despite the site remaining fully operational.
Simultaneously, workers at the Bcs company plants in Abbiategrasso, Cusago, and Suzzara are protesting after going months without salaries. Owner Fabrizio Castoldi has proposed a relaunch plan funded by a legal settlement from a family court case, but the plan has been rejected by the Fim and Fiom Ticino Olona unions. The situation remains in a stalemate as employees face financial hardship while awaiting decisions regarding controlled administration.
