Labor market challenges highlight recruitment difficulties in Chile and Spain
In Chile, the competitive job market is driving experts to recommend strategic approaches to resume building. Priscila Ramírez, Professional Manager at Randstad Chile, advises candidates to move away from accumulating data and instead focus on a 'strategic value proposition.' Key recommendations include using ATS-friendly designs with simple typography, limiting resumes to a maximum of two pages, and tailoring content to specific job competencies and keywords to avoid being discarded during initial screening phases.
In Spain, significant delays are affecting job vacancies, with 45.62% of analyzed positions remaining unfilled for more than 90 days. According to the SEPE Occupations Observatory, Spain recorded 151,736 vacancies in the second quarter of 2026. The difficulty in filling roles is particularly acute in sectors such as construction, manufacturing, transport, hospitality, and healthcare. The primary causes identified include a lack of candidates, insufficient professional experience, and a gap between required technical competencies and available talent. As an alternative, some organizations are looking toward hiring talent and providing necessary training to bridge these skill gaps.
