Labor market shifts demand new skills and adaptability

The modern labor market is shifting away from predictable career paths, making it increasingly difficult to forecast which professions will be in high demand. According to Márcio Monson, CEO of the recruitment technology company Selecty, the pace of structural changes within companies and evolving job requirements has made long-term career planning more complex than in previous decades.

A report from the World Economic Forum highlights the scale of this transition, indicating that 39% of core worker skills are expected to change by 2030. This shift often occurs within existing roles rather than through the creation of entirely new professions, as employees must adapt to new tools, tasks, and responsibilities.

While technical expertise remains necessary, there is a growing emphasis on soft skills and cognitive abilities. The report and industry experts suggest that analytical thinking, creativity, resilience, flexibility, and strategic vision are becoming essential differentiators for professionals in the evolving economy.
