Labor Party seeks alliance with Morena and PVEM for 2027

The Labor Party (PT) has expressed its intention to maintain its alliance with Morena and the Green Ecological Party of Mexico (PVEM) for the 2027 elections, provided they receive fair treatment and preserve their current political standing.

National commissioner Ernesto Villareal stated that while the PT often achieves better individual voting percentages when running alone, the party prefers a coalition model to ensure a qualified majority for the ‘Fourth Transformation’ project. He emphasized that the PT will seek the ‘common candidacy’ figure to ensure equitable distribution of votes and political spaces.

In Tamaulipas, national commissioner Arcenio Ortega Lozano reinforced this stance, clarifying that while the PT is an ally, it is not subordinate to Morena. He stated, “We are allies, we have an alliance spirit, but we are not employees,” stressing that the party will maintain its political autonomy during negotiations for candidacies for deputies, mayors, and councilors.
