Labor Public Ministry launches investigations in Campo Grande and Teresina

The Labor Public Ministry (MPT) has launched separate investigations into labor and welfare conditions in two different Brazilian locations.

In Campo Grande, the MPT-MS is opening a civil inquiry to investigate the Clínica da Alma. Following an inspection requested by the Public Defender's Office, authorities evaluated the facilities, housing, and activities involving approximately 130 residents. The inspection, which included sanitary surveillance and labor auditors, covered both the institution's administrative headquarters and its therapeutic community located in a rural area.

In Teresina, the MPT has opened an inquiry into Mateus Supermercados to investigate potential labor irregularities. The investigation focuses on working conditions, rest periods, compensation, and benefits. Specific points of interest include the use of hour banks and potential failures to provide transportation as required by collective bargaining agreements.
