Labor rights advocacy and legal congresses held in Spain and Argentina

In Ciudad Real, Spain, the Iglesia por el Trabajo Decente (ITD)—comprising CONFER, HOAC, JOC, and Cáritas—is organizing a Day for Decent Work. The initiative highlights the critical link between stable employment and affordable housing, noting that current wages often fail to guarantee an independent life. The group denounces labor precariousness, insufficient salaries, and the difficulty of balancing work and family life as factors in the de-humanization of labor. They are calling for full-time indefinite contracts, regulated rental prices, and increased public housing to prevent workers from being unable to live near their jobs.

Meanwhile, in La Rioja, Argentina, the V National Congress of Labor Law and the VI FIDES National Conferences will take place. This academic event brings together jurists and magistrates from seven provinces to discuss labor reform, the impact of new regulations, and workplace violence. Key topics include individual and collective labor law, electronic evidence in labor disputes, and the role of the Labor Secretariat. The event includes a strategic cooperation agreement with the Faculty of Law at the National University of Córdoba.
