Researcher Ludmila Costhek Abilio describes the expansion of 'uberization' as a profound transformation in labor relations that extends beyond app-based drivers and delivery workers. This phenomenon is characterized by increased informalization, outsourcing, and the transfer of operational risks and costs from companies to workers.

According to Abilio, the core of this shift is a new method of management and organization that reduces employees to 'on-demand workers.' This model lacks clearly established contracts, defined working hours, fixed remuneration, or set responsibilities, leaving workers in a state of constant availability without guaranteed income.

The trend is also appearing in essential public services such as electricity, sanitation, and urban maintenance, particularly through privatization and outsourcing processes in regions like São Paulo. While the researcher cautions against claiming the State is fully 'uberized,' she notes concrete signs of this logic emerging through outsourcing models.
