Labour Court blocks Golden Arrow bus driver strike
The Labour Court has issued an interim interdict blocking a planned strike by bus workers in Cape Town. The ruling prevents the strike from being protected, meaning workers who participate could face dismissal.
The dispute involves the bus company Golden Arrow and the National Union for All Sectors (NUFAS). The central conflict concerns the company’s use of monitoring cameras during disciplinary procedures.
Judge Z M Lallie granted the interdict after the company applied to prevent the strike announced by NUFAS. The ruling follows a series of legal challenges, including a previous dismissal of a similar application by the company in late August.
