Labour Party urges members to back specific NEC candidates

The Labour Party will email ballot papers for its National Executive Committee (NEC) election to members in the coming days. Candidates backed by the Centre‑Left Grassroots Alliance – Jess Barnard, Gemma Bolton and Yasmine Dar – are recommended as the top three preferences under the single‑transferable‑vote system.

Members are also advised to give their fourth‑to‑sixth preferences to the mainstream slate of Cat Arnold, Jovan Owusu‑Nepaul and Kerry Postlewhite. A Voting Preference Tool, accessed by entering a postcode, provides area‑specific ordering. The campaign frames the vote as crucial for a party reset under new leader Andy Burnham after the previous leadership of Keir Starmer.
