LAC and Rikkei partner to expand cybersecurity services in APAC
LAC Co., Ltd. and Rikkei have entered into a business alliance to expand cybersecurity services across the APAC region. The partnership aims to address the growing complexity of supply chain attacks and the shortage of security professionals in overseas locations. By combining LAC’s technical expertise with Rikkei’s multilingual talent and delivery capabilities, the companies plan to provide Japanese-standard security services and develop global security personnel capable of working in both Japanese and English.
Separately, Professor Tetsuro Uehara of Ritsumeikan University has highlighted the increasing risks posed by AI-driven cyberattacks. He noted that AI is accelerating the discovery of software vulnerabilities and enabling autonomous attacks that operate at speeds impossible for humans to counter. Uehara warned that many Japanese companies suffer from a lack of visibility into their own IT systems due to heavy reliance on outsourcing, which can lead to 'black box' systems and delayed responses to incidents. He advised management to prioritize assessing existing risks before implementing new security plans.
