Vietnam accelerates major infrastructure and transport projects

Vietnam is advancing several major infrastructure and transport projects. The Ministry of Construction has directed the Ho Chi Minh Road project (Cho Chu - Ngã ba Trung Sơn section) to be completed for safe operation by September 2026. This nearly 30km route through Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang provinces requires contractors to finalize remaining items and resolve payment issues for additional volumes by late September 2026.

In the south, the Vinhomes Green Paradise project in Can Gio is seeing significant investment adjustments. Vinhomes has increased its main contractor contract value by 76%, reaching approximately $12 billion USD. This large-scale coastal urban area is expected to include residential, hotel, and entertainment facilities.

Additionally, the Ministry of Construction is reviewing the feasibility of a sea-crossing bridge and tunnel connecting Can Gio and Vung Tau. This complex project aims to support long-term maritime logistics, with cargo forecasts reaching 2.67 billion tons per year by 2125. Meanwhile, Thai Nguyen and the Vietnam National Railway Group are planning a new tea-culture themed tourist train service between Hanoi and Thai Nguyen to launch alongside the 2026 International Tea Festival.
