Lachie Neale has confirmed he is leaving the Brisbane Lions following the club’s seven-point Grand Final victory over Fremantle. The 33-year-old dual Brownlow medallist concluded his tenure with the Lions by securing his third consecutive premiership.

Neale expressed gratitude for his eight years with the organization, describing it as “the best eight years of my life.” While widespread reports suggest he will join Collingwood, Neale has not officially confirmed his next destination.

The conclusion of his time in Brisbane follows a turbulent year, which included a public breakdown of his marriage and a recent suspension for striking that was ultimately downgraded to a $10,000 fine. During the Grand Final, Neale faced significant crowd hostility, including booing and derogatory chants, but finished the match with 20 disposals.
