Lachit Barphukan Police Academy emerges as national training hub

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has stated that the Lachit Barphukan Police Academy, located in Dergaon, Golaghat district, is emerging as a national-level police training hub. The academy is currently providing specialized training to personnel from Assam as well as other states, including Manipur and Goa.

Speaking at a passing-out parade for a new batch of Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP) and Assam Police communication personnel, the Chief Minister expressed his satisfaction with the trainees' performance.

The academy is also set to host a two-day state-level conference for Superintendents of Police (SP). This gathering will focus on critical law and order issues, including strategies to combat crimes against women and children, as well as the fight against narcotics. The conference aims to strengthen Assam's overall security framework and refine policing strategies.
