Anthony Vaccarello to depart Saint Laurent as creative director

Saint Laurent has officially announced that Anthony Vaccarello is stepping down as creative director, ending a decade-long tenure that began in 2016. The announcement was confirmed by the luxury group Kering, which noted that Vaccarello played a fundamental role in strengthening the brand's identity and cultural influence.

Vaccarello's final collection, the Spring/Summer 2027 line, was presented in Paris with a gold-themed aesthetic. Kering executives, including CEO Luca de Meo and Saint Laurent President Cedric Charbit, expressed gratitude for his creative vision and the remarkable trajectory the house achieved under his leadership. The company stated that the decision to replace him is based on long-term strategic prospects and is not related to recent financial performance.

During his time at the house, Vaccarello expanded Saint Laurent's reach into film through Saint Laurent Productions and established a presence in the arts. The brand remains a key pillar for Kering, contributing approximately one-fifth of its sales and one-third of its profits. Kering intends to announce a new creative director in the near future to lead the brand's next chapter.
