Ladakh Police induct 114 new officers for remote districts
Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena attended a passing-out parade at the Police Training School in Stongsar, marking the completion of training for various police personnel. Among those inducted into the Ladakh Police are 114 newly recruited Special Police Officers (SPOs).
These SPOs are slated for deployment across five newly created districts: Nubra, Sham, Changthang, Drass, and Zanskar. This deployment aims to increase police manpower and strengthen presence in remote and difficult-to-access regions. Additionally, 99 existing personnel completed pre-promotional courses to advance their ranks.
During the event, the Lieutenant Governor inaugurated 24 police family quarters and launched several initiatives for the Ladakh Fire & Rescue Service, including its official emblem, flag, logo, badges, and website. He also released a Comprehensive Fire Safety Handbook to improve public awareness and emergency response.
