Ladenburg: Search for missing man in Neckar river called off

A large-scale search for a missing 40-year-old man in the Neckar river near Ladenburg has been called off without success. The man was reported missing after witnesses observed him disappearing beneath the water near the Neckar ferry at approximately 4:15 p.m.

Emergency responders, including fire departments from Edingen-Neckarhausen, Ladenburg, Dossenheim, Ilvesheim, and Mannheim, conducted the operation. The search involved divers, boats, mantrailer dogs, a drone, and a helicopter.

Authorities decided to terminate the search after several hours, stating that given the elapsed time, it is unlikely the individual would still be alive in the event of a drowning. The man was last seen wearing green trousers. Police are requesting that anyone with information contact them.
