Ladispoli and Isernia ban alcohol sales in public during summer festivals

Mayor Alessandro Grando of Ladispoli signed an ordinance that will be in force from 3 July to 20 September 2026. The measure forbids the sale of alcoholic drinks in glass containers from 21:00 to 07:00 and bans consumption of such drinks in all public spaces—including streets, squares, parks and the daily market—during the same hours. It also prohibits any alcohol service between 03:00 and 07:00 and requires hospitality venues to close at 21:00. Violations carry administrative fines and, for repeat offences, possible suspension or temporary closure of the establishment.

In Isernia, Mayor Piero Castrataro issued two ordinances for the Onion Fair on 28‑29 June. The city prohibited the sale of alcoholic beverages in glass bottles or cans in the fair area from 08:00 on 28 June to 17:00 on 29 June, extending the ban to street vendors and temporary stalls. Consumption in glass or cans is allowed only inside authorized premises. Additional traffic restrictions were imposed around the fairgrounds. Penalties range from €25 to €500, reduced to €100 for prompt payment.
