Maddaloni receives 20 million euros for Cava Monti environmental remediation
The city of Maddaloni has been granted 20 million euros for the permanent environmental remediation and securing of the Cava Monti site. The funding, provided through the 2021-2027 Cohesion and Development Fund (FSC), was officially approved via administrative decree on October 19, 2026.
Vincenzo Santangelo, a regional councilor and president of the Special Commission on Anti-Mafia, Confiscated Assets, and Terra dei Fuochi, expressed satisfaction with the decision, noting it is a significant step toward addressing long-standing environmental issues in the area. The project aims to protect public health and safeguard the local environment through structural interventions.
