Ladji Doucouré announces upcoming hip surgery during Star Academy session

Former world champion hurdler Ladji Doucouré has revealed that he requires hip surgery. The announcement was made during a sports session with the three nominated students of Star Academy 2026—Elija, Zoé, and Brieuc—at the Dammarie-les-Lys castle.

During the training session, Doucouré shared that his physical condition has declined due to the toll of his professional athletic career, specifically citing the impact of competing in the 110m hurdles. He advised the students on the importance of physical preservation, noting that singers must also take care of their bodies to avoid long-term issues.

The session took place as the competition prepares for a special prime time broadcast on Saturday, October 24, where one of the three nominees will be eliminated.
