Lady Gaga apologizes for Haus Labs shade range controversy

Lady Gaga has issued a public apology following backlash against her beauty brand, Haus Labs, regarding the limited shade range of its new Sun Dipped Bronzing Veil. The controversy began when beauty influencer Golloria criticized the product for lacking inclusivity, noting it was initially set to launch with only six shades.

In addition to the limited selection, Gaga admitted the company acted incorrectly by requesting that Golloria remove her critique under the guise of a confidentiality agreement. Gaga described the handling of the feedback as “unkind” and stated, “This was not at all the way a creator’s—or any customer’s—voice should be treated.”

As a result of the criticism, Haus Labs has paused the product launch to expand the collection. The bronzer will now be released with 11 shades to ensure a more inclusive range. Gaga stated she will personally oversee internal changes to prevent similar issues in the future.
