Lafayette Parish deputies seize 2.5 lb of cocaine in I‑10 traffic stop

Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle near the University Avenue exit on Interstate 10 on Thursday evening after a traffic violation. With the driver’s consent, narcotics agents searched the car and discovered nearly 2.5 pounds of cocaine. The driver, Raekia Lewis, 34, and passenger Joshua Worley, 38, both residents of Napoleonville, were arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II controlled substance. They were booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not indicated whether additional charges or arrests are expected.
