LAFC appoints Xavi Tamarit as interim manager

Los Angeles FC (LAFC) has appointed Xavi Tamarit as interim head coach following the departure of Marc Dos Santos. The decision comes at a critical juncture in the MLS season as the club fights to secure a playoff position in the Western Conference.

Dos Santos was dismissed after a period of declining performance, with the team winning only two of its last 13 matches across all competitions. Before this slump, the club had maintained an undefeated streak through its first 11 matches. John Thorrington, president of sports operations, stated that the change was based on both recent results and overall performance, aiming to provide the team with the best opportunity to reach its seasonal goals.

Tamarit, a member of the technical staff since last winter, brings over twenty years of experience from England, Spain, and Argentina. He will lead the team through its upcoming matches, including a significant test against the Vancouver Whitecaps, while the club begins a search for a permanent replacement.
