LAFC hosts Portland Timbers amid pursuit of MLS postseason

The team has struggled with offensive consistency in August, following a period where they scored 10 goals in three matches.

The Portland Timbers enter the match with momentum, having won four of their last six league games. Following a 3-1 victory over San Diego FC, the Timbers sit ninth in the West with an 8-9-3 record. Kristoffer Velde has been a key contributor for Portland, recently recording a goal and two assists.
