LAFD ladder truck crash injures seven in South Los Angeles

A Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) ladder truck was involved in a multi-vehicle collision in South Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon. The accident occurred near the intersection of South Figueroa Street and 120th Street in the Vermont Vista neighborhood.

Seven people were injured in the crash, which involved the fire department vehicle and three civilian sedans. Among the hospitalized individuals were six civilians and one firefighter. One victim had to be extricated from a vehicle following the impact. The fire truck became lodged in the front of a sports bar near a laundromat, and the intersection was closed for several hours while crews worked to clear the scene.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation. This incident follows another collision involving an LAFD ambulance earlier in the week, which injured three department personnel and one other person while transporting a patient.
