Laformed advances production of essential medical supplies in Formosa

The Laboratorio de Especialidades Médicas de Formosa (Laformed) is proceeding with its production planning to supply the provincial public health system in Argentina. According to Rodrigo Gómez, president of Laformed, the facility is maintaining continuous production across several key areas.

In the solids plant, the laboratory is producing tablets such as Ibuprofen and Paracetamol. To support dengue prevention campaigns, the facility is also manufacturing repellents and insecticides, with strict controls in place regarding their distribution. Other essential outputs include environmental insecticides, alcohol gel, and parenteral nutrition, the latter of which involves daily deliveries to the Hospital de la Madre y el Niño.

Additionally, Laformed is producing sunscreen as part of skin cancer prevention efforts led by the Ministry of Human Development. The laboratory is currently working on a project to ensure sufficient stock of sunscreen is available by December and January for the upcoming summer season. The facility is also preparing for increased demand potentially linked to El Niño weather patterns.
