Lagadas 2nd Gymnasium inaugurated as part of Central Macedonia school program

The new building for the 2nd Gymnasium of Lagadas was officially inaugurated on Monday, September 14. The bioclimatic facility serves 230 students and features modern infrastructure, including multi-purpose spaces, an arts room, a computer lab, and basketball and football courts.

This school is the fourth of 17 new educational units being constructed in Central Macedonia through Public-Private Partnerships (PPP). The total contractual cost for all 17 schools is 137.6 million euros, including VAT. These projects are spread across nine municipalities and have a total capacity for approximately 5,000 students.

Under the partnership agreement signed in October 2024, the contractor is responsible for the construction within 24 months, as well as the technical management and maintenance of the facilities for the next 25 years. The inauguration was attended by Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Christos Dimas, Deputy Minister of Education Nikos G. Papaioannou, and other local officials.
