Lagardère Travel Retail expands Costa Coffee footprint in Poland
Lagardère Travel Retail Poland opened almost 700 sq m of new retail and food‑and‑beverage space at Warsaw Modlin Airport, adding a Costa Coffee outlet and the company’s 1Minute Smacznego! concept. The two venues provide seating for about 200 passengers and are part of the airport’s terminal expansion as passenger traffic grew more than 160 % year‑on‑year, with 1.5 million travellers recorded in the first seven months of 2026. Deputy CEO Dariusz Sinkiewicz said the development supports the airport’s rapid growth, while airport CEO Jacek Kowalski highlighted the need for the whole ecosystem to evolve.
In the city centre, Lagardère opened its seventh Costa Coffee franchise in the Wroclavia shopping centre in Wrocław. The 100 sq m shop offers 48 seats and a 16‑metre garden, operating under a new “Light” format that reduces investment costs by about 30 % and shortens build time by up to nine days. Managing Director of Foodservice Maciej Gajkowski noted the franchise model’s success and outlined a plan to reach 14 coffee locations across Poland by the end of 2027, covering both major cities and smaller towns.
