Lago di Vico water sluice tampering caught on camera
Two individuals were caught on surveillance cameras tampering with the water sluice system at Lago di Vico in the Ronciglione area. The incident, which occurred on July 10, affected the system regulating the minimum vital water flow from the lake toward the Rio Vicano.
Following the discovery, the Ente Monti Cimini notified the Carabinieri Forestali of Caprarola and the Lazio Regional Hydraulic Police. A joint operation was subsequently launched to investigate potential abuses regarding water concessions in the area downstream from the lake basin.
The surveillance footage from the Abboccatore location has been handed over to the Carabinieri Forestali to assist in identifying the suspects. This monitoring effort is part of ongoing activities by the Ente Monti Cimini to comply with a Council of State ruling aimed at preventing the degradation of the lake's ecosystem.
