Lagoa da Pampulha waterfront opens for weekly leisure activities

The Belo Horizonte City Hall has launched the “A Orla é Nossa” initiative, which reserves a 3.4-kilometer stretch of Avenida Otacílio Negrão de Lima along the Lagoa da Pampulha waterfront for leisure and sports every Saturday.

Starting Saturday, September 26, the road will be closed to vehicular traffic in both directions from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The area is designated for walking, running, cycling, and the use of electric scooters. To ensure safety and organization, BHTrans and the Municipal Superintendency of Mobility (Sumob) will manage traffic and security.

Drivers are advised to use alternative routes. For those heading toward Parque Ecológico, detours include Avenida Cremona and the streets Palermo and Sardenha. For those heading toward Mineirão, the alternative route involves Sardenha, Palermo, and Avenida Cremona. Access to garages for local residents and businesses will be maintained during the closure.
