Lagoa Salgada shooting leaves two dead, one in ICU

A gun attack on Thursday, 30 May, at a commercial venue in Lagoa Salgada, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, killed two people. Emmanuel Quirino Xavier, known locally as Paulinho, was shot and died on the scene, and a second woman died after being taken to hospital.

A third victim, identified as Rebeca, was also shot, underwent surgery and remains intubated in an intensive‑care unit. Police forces secured the area, forensic teams collected evidence, and the Civil Police opened an investigation to determine the motive and identify the perpetrators. No arrests have been reported.
