Lagoa Santa hosts Brazilian Speed Canoeing Championship

The 2026 Brazilian Speed Canoeing and Paracanoeing Championship has commenced in Lagoa Santa, Minas Gerais. The event, which runs from September 3 to 6, features 534 athletes representing 36 clubs from 11 Brazilian states.

Olympic and world champion Isaquias Queiroz participated in the opening day, winning the second heat of the men's senior C1 1000m with a time of 4:26.36. The competition includes 260 scheduled races across various categories, including Infantil, Menor, Cadete, Júnior, Sênior, and Master, as well as paracanoeing disciplines.

Early results from the Menor category saw gold medals awarded in the 3000m events. In the men's K2 3000m, Enzo Gabriel Peres Araujo and Miguel Nogueira Ramos took first place, while the PMLS team secured multiple titles in the C2 and K2 women's categories.
