Lagos community unrest leaves four dead
Four men were killed and several others injured following communal unrest at the Power Line Bus Stop in Ikola, located within the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State.
The violence reportedly began after a disagreement between a northerner and an individual suspected of being a cult group leader. According to local reports, the altercation escalated into a riot that required police reinforcement from the Meiran Division.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency confirmed the deaths and noted that the incident resulted in a fire that razed several makeshift structures. Emergency responders, including the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, the Agbado Oke-Odo Ambulance Service, and the Nigerian Red Cross Society, were deployed to the scene to provide medical support and control the blaze.
