Lagos court denies bail to KC Luxury in cocaine trafficking trial
The Federal High Court in Lagos has rejected a bail application for Afolabi Kazeem Michael, a social media influencer known as KC Luxury, who is facing a 22-count charge involving the alleged trafficking of 184.5 kilograms of cocaine to the United Kingdom and money laundering.
Justice Musa Kakaki ruled that the defense failed to provide sufficient medical evidence or certificates to justify release on medical grounds. While the defense argued that Kazeem’s health had deteriorated following a lung collapse, the prosecution contended that the medical documentation did not prove the current facility could not manage his asthma.
Despite the denial, the judge directed the Ikoyi Custodial Centre to provide Kazeem with unrestricted access to medical experts and doctors. The court also ordered an accelerated hearing, with the trial scheduled to commence on November 2, 2026.
