Lagos court remands woman for alleged cyberstalking of Folashade Okoya

A Federal High Court in Lagos has remanded 35-year-old Ifeoma Nwafor at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre following allegations of cyberstalking Folashade Okoya, the Managing Director of Eleganza Industrial City Limited.

Nwafor was arraigned on a three-count criminal charge involving conspiracy and cyberstalking. The prosecution alleges that Nwafor used multiple Instagram accounts to publish materials regarding Okoya that were “offensive, false, malicious and calculated to cause harm.” Nwafor pleaded not guilty to all counts.

Justice Deinde Dipeolu granted Nwafor bail in the sum of ₦3 million with two sureties providing the same amount. The judge stipulated that the sureties must reside within the court's jurisdiction, with one being a blood relative of the defendant. While bail was granted, the court ordered Nwafor to remain in custody at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre until the bail conditions are fully met.
