Lagos Governor confirms vandalism of Lagos-Badagry bridge fittings
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has confirmed that vandals excavated and stole fittings used to secure a bridge pole at Vin-Niger, located near the Alakija axis of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
Following an on-the-spot assessment of the site, Sanwo-Olu assured residents that the structural integrity of the bridge remains intact and that the infrastructure is safe for use. He noted that remedial work would be executed immediately to protect the bridge columns.
The Governor expressed concern regarding ongoing vandalism in Festac Town, specifically mentioning the theft of iron rods and the destruction of drainage slabs. He warned that the state government would pursue all responsible parties, including those involved in the buying and selling of stolen public infrastructure materials, stating that such criminal acts will not be tolerated.
