Lagos-Ibadan Expressway crash injures 13 people

Thirteen people, including eight women, two men, and three children, were injured on Friday when a Mazda bus crashed on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State. The accident occurred around 12:30 pm in the Remo North Local Government Area as the vehicle was traveling toward Lagos with 18 occupants.

According to the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), a tyre burst caused the driver to lose control, leading the bus to overturn and strike a concrete barrier. The barrier prevented the vehicle from plunging into a deep ditch.

Rescue teams from TRACE and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) evacuated the victims to three nearby hospitals. Hospital officials reported that four of the injured individuals were subsequently treated and discharged. The incident drew public attention after Nollywood actor Kunle Afod shared a video on Instagram expressing concern over a perceived delay in emergency response at the scene.
